We are the makers of possible: BD Urology and Critical Care Product Specialist Doing ‘Angels Work’

Hamed Aldabeis is passionate about helping lower the risk of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs). More specifically, Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTIs).  

The Saudi Arabian-based Product Specialist with BD Interventional – Urology and Critical Care strongly believes in supporting better patient outcomes, starting with helping reduce CAUTI.  Hamed noted that he and the team work hard to help educate healthcare professionals about the reduction of CAUTI in hospital settings across the country. Typically, when a patient does get CAUTI, the care facility incurs more costs, and it also adversely impacts the patient.

“We do have some hospitals with whom we’ve partnered and they now include our PureWick^TM female external catheter and Surestep^TM Bardex^TM I.C. Foley Trays as part of their patient protocol, which is satisfying knowing we helped them. I call what we do ‘angels work’ because we are serving them and helping them at very vulnerable times,” said Hamed.

Shifting from a distributor to working for BD

Hamed came to BD full-time after working for a medical device distributor for a few years. He said he has no regrets given the BD culture, work environment, and people.

“This is my third job out of university, and I could not be happier. BD is an amazing place. I felt like I fit right in on my first day here. We have a small team of three of us covering a large territory and we always find time to help and support each other,” explained Hamed. “I also love connecting with the larger BD network around the world. Everyone here is approachable and supportive.”
