On any given day, Missy Hall might be found teaching a nurse at a hospital in her territory how to use ultrasound and insert a PICC line. Later that night, she might be seen spinning electronic dance music at a local club.

It’s this duality that helps Missy stay balanced and focused as a nurse educator for BD’s Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) business, as well as someone who values time with family and exploring other hobbies. She typically travels Monday through Friday as a Clinical Specialist educating healthcare professionals in hospitals throughout parts of Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas on AccuCath^TM ACE Intravascular Catheter, PowerGlide Pro^TM Midline Catheter with Reinforced Tip, and other Midline solutions, PICC lines, and Peripheral IV’s.

“It can be a challenge to juggle your family and personal needs when you travel a lot, but I love my job at BD. We are an organization that truly puts the patient first in our products and the way BD treats and cares for its associates is really refreshing when compared to what I have experienced in the past,” she emphasized. “At BD, you are appreciated and receive recognition. You feel cared for and valued. You are not treated like just another global i.d. number in a sea of global associate i.d. numbers.” (Note: BD has more than 75,000 associates working for the organization around the world.)

Purpose and Possibilities are BD Differentiators for Talent

Missy recalls visiting a family member at the hospital once in her surgical scrubs. The nurse taking care of the family member asked what company she worked for, and Missy quickly replied and started gesturing to the myriad of BD devices and solutions around the room: “I work at BD and then I started pointing out all of the products -- from the sharps container on the wall, to the Foley catheter, to the syringes and so on. We have such a vast portfolio of products. Our scale is really impressive, and I completely agree that our Purpose is advancing the world of health^TM,” she said.

While Missy says she cannot imagine working anywhere else, she encourages others to consider the realm of career possibilities at the company as well.

“I worked in a hospital as a nurse for 12 years before joining BD.  The opportunity here seemed amazing and too great to pass up. I took a nervous leap, not knowing what to expect. And that’s when I realized I had made the best career move I could have ever made. There are so many roles to consider, and so many learning and growth opportunities for anyone who desires it. I don’t ever see myself leaving BD,” Missy said.
