For Rajat Garg, a Lead Software Quality Engineer, part of why he has remained with BD for 12 years is the meaningful and challenging work he gets to immerse himself in every day. The other part is working within a very supportive, unique, and familial environment.

“So far, my career at BD has been great. I’ve been able to work on six or seven different products, help be part of the team that established the Software Technology Solutions India (STSI) site and take on a lead role with four direct reports,” Rajat says. “And I get to do so with a team that is really connected with one another and cares about each other.”

These days, Rajat is working on BD Pyxis™ MedStation™ ES and says working on a system that is used across 14 countries and in 14 languages, gives him an additional boost of energy and motivation, not to mention pride. BD Pyxis™ MedStation™ ES is an automated medication dispensing system supporting centralized medication management. It helps clinicians safely and efficiently dispense the right medications, for the right patients, at the right time.

A Culture Like No Other

After spending a few years at a smaller technology-based company and a large, well-known technology organization, Rajat came to BD eager to learn more about the healthcare and medical technology space, and to contribute to advancing the world of health™.

“With the leadership support of Vikas (Baweja) and Ashish (Sood), they not only care about us as professionals but as people too,” explained Rajat. “They empower us, support us, and treat us almost like we are a family member. This was so evident during the pandemic. They made sure we had access to medical staff and supported us if we tested positive for Covid. There is a strong sense of community and connection among all of us and I believe the culture and leadership are what make this possible.”
