Technical Leader: MoldingThis role will lead the Production Technical Support Team and be responsible for:
Leading JG1 and JG2 technical team to support the molding operation
Focusing technical resources on associate skill enhancement across all TSA levels and crews
Investigating and define Resolving Loss (Breakdown, Waste, OEE)
Collaborating with Tool Room and Asset Care to ensure Preventive Maintenance (PM) Compliance
Coordinating with production for Mold/Press PM to be completed Per SAP Schedule
Tracking Breakdowns to determine high risk issues and define solutions
Supporting “Zero Stock Outs” commitment to manufacturing
Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Willing and able to uphold BD Values
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Leads Technical Support Team
•Direct reports include Sr. Molding Process Techs, Mold Set-up Techs, Lead Diagnostic Tech, and Diagnostic Techs
•Works with Molding Process Engineers to ensure engineering support across molding.
•Coaches and trains Technical Support team
•Provides direction and training focus for the Technical Support team to develop skills across molding associates and crews
•Willing to coordinate issues on off shift to ensure minimal disruption of molding production, including determining needs to call in technical associates for priority repairs
•Reviews current technical support practices and seeks areas of opportunity to improve technical support performance to meet the business needs.
Loss (Breakdown, Waste, Speed) Investigation and Resolution
·Attend Tier 1 Start-up Technical and Tier 2 Meeting meetings to understand current state and to define resource need, deployment, and timing to close losses.
·Track, investigate, define solution, and resolve repeat loss issues
·Supports and coaches Sr. Process Technicians and Shift Lead Technicians in Investigation of losses (Breakdowns, Waste, Speed) to ensure countermeasure is effective.
·Support CI projects/validations as required to help improve equipment reliability
Development of Maintenance standards
·Engage with Operators and Technicians to effectively use Planned and Preventative Maintenance to increase OEE and safety performance
oCavity recovery and process optimization for PPH output
·Provide suggestions to improve Maintenance Standards and execution (Frequency, Breakdowns and Repairs) to Asset Care based on problem solving outcomes and issue tracking and analysis.
Building maintenance skills for Technicians and Operators.
·Provide Training and Coaching to Operators and Technicians on Preventative Maintenance activities and standards.
Responsible for equipment breakdown response and escalation process in an expedient manner.
·Maintain technical skills across molding to ensure rapid response to operational issues to maintain OEE
·Development of Daily Maintenance standards for designated molding unit.
·Building maintenance skills for the technicians and operators as applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum Education:
This position has the following minimum educational requirements:
·Associates Degree: Required
oIn lieu of AA/AS degree, 10 years of Technical or Manufacturing experience required 2 years medical device manufacturing experience preferred
·Molding Processing training/certification (Paulson/RJG or comparable injection molding training)
·BA/BS Degree - Preferred – Industrial, Mechanical, or Molding Engineering
2. Minimum Experience:
·3 years’ people leading experience preferred
·3 years’ experience with high volume manufacturing/molding operations preferred
·Molding: 5 years’ experience molding technical support including processing, tooling, and mechanical.
·3 years’ project leadership considered in place of people leadership
