Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1.    Provide routine guidance to Microbiology Lab Technicians, review and approve tests and paperwork, provide training on new test methods, procedures, etc.
2.    Perform routine Microbiology testing and fill in for Microbiology Technicians as needed (environmental, water and product testing, incoming tests on products/media, identification of microorganisms, creation of process challenge devices for sterilization).
3.    Write and perform validations of laboratory equipment and microbiology methods.
4.    Lead method validation transfers from other BD sites or contractors.
5.    Create and revise procedures and other laboratory documentation.
6.    Operate and troubleshoot all laboratory equipment.
7.    Write and perform investigations for laboratory out of specifications (OOS) and other deviations.
8.    Assist with internal and customer audits.
9.    Perform CAPA investigations.
10.    Trend and analyze laboratory data.
11.    Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
•    Compliant Microbiology lab.
•    Accurate documentation and record keeping.

Supervision:

• This position does not supervise any associates at any level

Minimum Education :

• Required : BA/BS – Microbiology, Biology or other scientific field. In leu of Bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree in a scientific field and a minimum of two (2) years of laboratory experience in a scientific field such as biology, chemistry, microbiology, or a related field would be considered.

Minimum Experience :

• Minimum of 2 years of experience within a pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing facility, having performed microbiological tasks associated with pharmaceutical or medical device products and processes
