This is a seasonal position for Summer 2026 (May through August) which is an opportunity for a student in engineering or scientific discipline to work in an engineering capacity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Draft and execute product test protocols.

  • Perform development and verification testing on new or existing BD UCC Products.

  • Draft test reports.

  • Attend Design Reviews and Team meetings as part of the project core team.

  • Create specifications and drawings, under the direction of a lead engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Analytical/Strategic thinking ability and mental agility.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer with intermediate level of keyboarding skills.

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Experience in 3-D CAD systems is a plus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school degree required

  • Current college education in engineering, or related field

  • Experience solving problems and making recommendations to management

  • Experience executing projects in a team environment and managing day-to-day activities related to project expectations

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, sales representatives, internal teams, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Basic understanding of data analysis techniques is a plus.

REASONING ABILITY
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee may be required to sit, bend, stoop, use keyboard, see, talk and hear. May occasionally lift objects up to 25 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a normal office environment. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate. No travel is required.
