Our Manufacturing Operations organization comprises multiple manufacturing locations across the globe where our teams have a hands-on role producing high quality products in high-quality facilities, what allows us to provide our customers with exceptional products and solutions.
About the role
The BD Excellence Technician plays a key role in supporting the Continuous Improvement (CI) team by acting as a bridge between manufacturing operations and CI initiatives. This position is focused on identifying and resolving day-to-day operational challenges on the manufacturing floor while driving improvements that enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost savings across the site. Working closely with production teams, you will analyse processes, document workflows, optimise material and people flow, and help implement process and equipment improvements that deliver measurable results.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is motivated to develop a career in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing. You will collaborate with operators and stakeholders to introduce and sustain best practices, support and deliver training, facilitate improvement events, and champion Lean methodologies such as DMAIC, Kaizen, and 5S. As part of the BD Excellence programme, you will contribute to site-wide improvement initiatives, lead or support tiered meetings, and participate in Shingijutsu events, while continuously developing your own expertise through education, training, and exposure to CI projects.Building strong, efficient relationships with manufacturing operatives.
Main responsibilities will include:
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with manufacturing operators and cross-functional teams to support a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Analyse manufacturing processes and develop balanced, efficient process flows that optimise productivity, quality, and performance.
Identify, lead, and implement cost-saving initiatives by improving workflows, reducing waste, and increasing operational efficiency across production areas.
Collect, document, and evaluate key process data, including material flow, people flow, cycle times, and operational metrics to support improvement activities.
Deliver hands-on coaching and training to manufacturing operators, ensuring best practice processes are effectively implemented and sustained.
Drive the adoption of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including DMAIC, Kaizen, 5S, and other Continuous Improvement tools to enhance site performance.
Support and execute process, equipment, and workplace improvement projects that contribute to safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
Actively contribute to the BD Excellence programme, taking ownership of Continuous Improvement initiatives and helping embed a culture of operational excellence.
Facilitate and lead Tiered Meetings when required, ensuring actions, improvements, and operational priorities are effectively communicated and tracked.
Play a key role in Shingijutsu and Continuous Improvement events, working as a facilitator to identify opportunities, engage stakeholders, and deliver sustainable improvements across the site.
About you
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence colleagues across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and driving continuous improvement opportunities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas, facilitate discussions, and deliver training to diverse audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, building strong partnerships across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Continuous Improvement functions.
Passion for Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing, with knowledge of Lean tools such as Kaizen, 5S, DMAIC, or a willingness to develop expertise in these methodologies.
Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to learn, thrive in change, and embrace new challenges and responsibilities.
Commitment to personal and professional development, including a desire to further education, training, and Continuous Improvement knowledge.
Understanding of regulated manufacturing environments and the importance of compliance, quality standards, and operational excellence.
Experience leading or supporting improvement projects, Kaizen events, or initiatives that have delivered measurable business results is highly advantageous.
Results-driven and action-oriented mindset, with a proven ability to take ownership, deliver on commitments, and consistently add value through practical improvements and enhanced operational performance.
This Role is a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract at our Enniscorthy site.
