Associate Director, National Reference Lab Business Leader
This position is responsible for the leading efforts to further develop the US Reference Laboratory market strategy, delivering profitable revenue growth and enhancing customer relationships. Manages and leads cross-functional resources including Marketing, Finance, and Contracting & Pricing. This position will report to the National Reference Lab and New Care Settings Vice President.
Responsibilities:
General management and oversight of the US National Reference Laboratory Strategy.
- Drive profitable growth by taking a customer focused approach to create and implement the US National Reference Laboratory financial and strategic business plans.
- Achieve or exceed the US National Reference Lab annual financial plans and ROI objectives.
- Establish executive alignment between BD and our lab partners, (create a cadence of C-suite communication) to ensure strategic priorities and BD solutions are fully synchronized.
- Deliver customer-centric value by translating clinical and operational needs into tailored solutions that improve workflow efficiency, patient outcomes, and partner satisfaction.
- Shape contracting strategy by structuring agreements that incentivize compliance, optimize purchasing behaviors, and maximize long-term value creation for both BD and our lab partners.
- Support in the creation of US support infrastructure to help grow and develop the US National Reference Laboratory strategy; while securing appropriate divisional resources to execute.
Demonstrated competencies & capabilities:
- Experience in strategic account management with national reference labs with ability to foster C-suite level engagement.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate highly matrixed and global commercial organizations.
- Innovative: attentive to customer, competitive and market trends, with ability to provide market insights internally as part of new solution development.
- Business performance / financial management (plan-forecast)
- Sales: account planning, critical success factors for strategic accounts, executive sponsorship, executive suite Issues (C-Level), and strategic alliances.
- Finance/C&P: contracts & agreements, financial analysis.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in business and/or life science related field; MBA preferred
- 5+ years documented executive level sales required, people management experience desired but not required.
- Manager level finance and strategic account leadership experiences are required with prior experience in large account management, including contract negotiation and execution and building C-Suite relationships
- Demonstrated ability to navigate commercial matrix, lead without authority, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess strong Influencing skills and managerial courage.
