Job Overview:

This is a hybrid role, essentially a QC Technician III that also includes the responsibilities associated with the Calibration Technian I role.  With a primary focus in IQC, this job requires an ability to independently recognize and engage with priorities as needed by manufacturing through the hot list system or through the engineering needs in the form of various projects, special test requests, etc.  Communication with peers, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Supplier Quality is essential, particularly in resolution of requests involving suppliers or as appropriate for urgent requests from manufacturing.  Expectations include a high level of expertise across a spectrum of inspection methods, familiarity with inspection equipment and an ability to lead by example through supporting the Lead Incoming Inspector and the IQC department strategy.

This position reports to the Quality Control Manager, with a dotted line reporting to the QA Project and Calibration Leader.

Requirements:

• The intent of the position is a 3 day weekly focus in IQC with 2 days in Calibration, supporting routine calibration requirements across all departments in GFO.  

• Requirements include set up, maintenance and troubleshooting on calibrated measurement and test equipment and tooling, effective communication with peers, manufacturing, engineering and suppliers as needed and for exercising good judgment in non-routine situations through the diverse environments of the facility.  

• May include responsibility as the primary QC & Calibration Tech resource for new onloads, including function as a primary trainer through initial production builds.  

• Expectations include development of inspection or calibration procedures, engagement with external calibration support and flexibility with scheduling where calibration requirements must be met within constraints related to production capacity.
