The Territory Sales Specialist role is responsible for promoting and selling BD products within an assigned territory of hospitals and clinics. This involves developing strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers in the purchasing process. The role also requires educating customers on the safe and effective use of our products through in-service presentations and product demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed established annual sales quotas
  • Maintain detailed records of customer usage, trends, and purchases to develop strategy and goal setting
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities, untapped markets, and customers
  • Assist existing customers with product knowledge, sizing, troubleshooting, and clinical training
  • Educate end users on the safe and effective use of BD products
  • Communicate market information back to the company including competitive activity, product trends, and changes in the marketplace
  • Plan and organize work schedule around customer needs and sales opportunities
  • Participate in local trade shows and conventions to promote BD products
  • Adhere to BD's compliance guidelines and code of conduct
  • Fulfill additional assignments as requested by supervisor

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Pharmacy or equivalent is required.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of relevant working experience in the medical device industry

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with initiative and creativity
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% within assigned territory
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record

Travel

Up to 70% travel within assigned territory is expected.
