Job Description

In recent years, Medication Management Solutions (MMS) has built on this history through a significant expansion into the high-growth pharmacy automation space and is now one of the global leaders in pharmacy automation. The Pharmacy Automation platform positions BD to offer our pharmacy customers a more comprehensive set of smart, connected care technologies as they expand care to new settings, centralize their pharmacy operations and lead the charge in addressing some of the biggest challenges facing the industry, including health care worker burnout and the global clinician shortage. BD’s Pharmacy Automation portfolio covers a wide range of hardware and software technologies from storage and dispensing robots, vision solutions, pouch packagers, vial filling systems, blister card production systems, central fill solutions and enterprise pharmacy management software solutions.

As Senior Manager, Hardware Engineering, you will lead and grow a multidisciplinary engineering team based in Limerick, Ireland. This is an opportunity to shape the future of hardware engineering within our European Pharmacy Automation organization, building team capability, strengthening engineering excellence, and supporting the development of technologies that make a meaningful difference in healthcare delivery worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and grow a multidisciplinary hardware engineering team across mechanical, electrical, controls, and systems engineering.
• Drive engineering excellence through robust development processes, design reviews, technical governance, and quality-focused practices.
• Build team capability through hiring, coaching, development planning, and targeted skills growth initiatives.
• Ensure effective resource planning and allocation to support business priorities and product development objectives.
• Partner with engineering leaders across the global organization to align tools, processes, technical standards, and ways of working.
• Support the successful delivery of complex hardware development programs by ensuring teams have the skills, capacity, and direction needed to execute effectively.
• Encourage innovation, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision making across engineering activities.
• Collaborate with teams across research and development, quality, operations, service, and product management to achieve business and customer goals.

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams within complex product development environments.
• Strong knowledge of medical device development, design controls, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated success in building teams, developing talent, and creating scalable engineering organizations.
• Experience guiding engineering governance, risk management, and structured product development processes.
• Ability to lead through change, navigate complex environments, and influence outcomes across global teams.

The expected base salary for this role is in the region of €100,000 to €120,000 per year. Please note that this is a more representative range than the wider salary band shown at the end of the advertisement. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, alongside a range of additional benefits.
