Job Description Summary

Ready to take your sales career to the next level in a role that shapes pathology lab practice across NSW/ACT.

Job Description

At BD, possibility isn’t an idea. It’s what we do. We are the Makers of Possible.

BD's Specimen Management has shaped the science of specimen collection for more than 70 years. Today, our BD Vacutainer™ portfolio is the gold standard in sample quality and safety — relied upon in up to 70% of all medical decisions.

As the Territory Manager for NSW/ACT, you’ll step into a uniquely influential role spanning pathology laboratories and hospital departments. With BD’s market leadership behind you, you’ll drive growth across a high‑potential territory, build lasting partnerships with scientists, pathologists, phlebotomy leaders and clinicians, and deliver education that directly improves sample quality, workflow, and patient outcomes.

If you thrive in complex selling environments and can confidently navigate both scientific conversations and commercial decision-making, this role is tailor‑made for you.

Your Day-to-Day

As a Territory Manager within the Specimen Management team, you’ll combine relationship-building, technical expertise, and strategic selling to grow BD’s market presence across NSW/ACT.

Your day will include:

  • Achieving revenue, gross profit, and market share targets for the Specimen Management portfolio

  • Developing territory and account plans aligned to the ANZ marketing strategy

  • Maintaining close relationships with pathology labs, hospital departments, clinicians, educators, and procurement

  • Becoming the technical expert on Specimen Management, providing product demonstrations, evaluations, and clinical procedure education

  • Tailoring and delivering training programs to support trials, implementations, and improved specimen collection practices

  • Staying up to date on pathology trends, scientific research, competitor activity, and evolving lab workflows

  • Providing technical input for tender submissions and customer queries

  • Documenting activities, insights, and opportunities in SFDC

  • Spending at least 80% of your time in the field, building deep customer knowledge and uncovering new opportunities

About You

You’re driven, curious, commercially sharp, and confident engaging with clinicians and scientists. You enjoy selling into complex environments, influencing practice change, and bringing technical solutions to life.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven sales success in medical devices, diagnostics, consumables, or pathology-related portfolios

  • Strong ability to navigate long sales cycles and manage diverse stakeholders

  • Confidence communicating with laboratory scientists, phlebotomy leaders, pathology decision-makers, and hospital clinical teams

  • Experience delivering product training, clinical education or technical support

  • Ability to analyse customer needs, tailor solutions, and run product demonstrations

  • Tenacity, self-motivation, and a genuine desire to learn and grow

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to prioritise multiple competing opportunities

  • Knowledge of pathology workflows, lab practices, or specimen management (highly desirable but not essential)

If you’ve sold into pathology, you’ll be a standout. If you’ve sold into both pathology and hospital environments, you are exactly the unicorn we’re looking for.

  • Opportunity to work with a market-leading product portfolio
