Job Description
Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Sales Manager (ASM) or Senior Area Sales Manager (SR ASM) to drive sales growth and market penetration for our medical device portfolio within a defined territory in India. This role involves leading sales initiatives, fostering strong customer relationships, and achieving ambitious sales targets.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed assigned sales quotas and business objectives.
* Manage and grow relationships with key opinion leaders, hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare professionals.
* Identify new business opportunities, conduct market analysis, and develop strategies to expand market share.
* Present and demonstrate Becton Dickinson's products and solutions to potential and existing customers, effectively communicating their value proposition.
* Negotiate and close sales deals, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
* Provide accurate sales forecasts, reports, and market intelligence to management.
* Collaborate with marketing, clinical, and support teams to ensure seamless customer experience and product adoption.
* Train and mentor junior sales team members (if applicable, for SR ASM role).
* Attend industry conferences, workshops, and sales meetings as required.
* Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Becton Dickinson's product portfolio, competitor activities, and market trends.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
* Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive sales experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry for ASM, and 8+ years for SR ASM, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
* Strong understanding of the Indian healthcare market, including tender processes and regulatory environment.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
* Results-oriented with a strong drive to succeed and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
* Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
* Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
