About the role

As Laboratory Assistant you willjoin a team dedicated to advancing healthcare through precision, safety, and innovation. As a Laboratory Assistant in our Microbiology department, you will play a key role in supporting essential testing and monitoring processes that ensure the quality and safety of our products and environments. This is a hands-on role in a regulated laboratory setting, ideal for someone who values structure, detail, and purpose in their work.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the microbiology laboratory and Sterility Suites
  • Prepare and sterilise microbiological growth media using autoclaves
  • Wash, prepare, and manage laboratory glassware and waste disposal in line with safety protocols
  • Support environmental monitoring by preparing equipment and media
  • Document all work accurately using controlled documentation systems
  • Prepare and supply sterile lubricants and components for production use
  • Dispense and manage production provisions, including removal of expired items
  • Assist with investigations related to processes, products, or non-conformances

About you

  • GCSEs in relevant subjects
  • Experience in a scientific laboratory or familiarity with manufacturing environments is desirable
  • Comfortable working in a regulated environment with strict safety and quality standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures
  • Confident using basic computer systems and documentation tools
  • Motivated to contribute to a team focused on healthcare quality and innovation

Salary range for the role (PART TIME):£14.299 + benefits
