The Manufacturing Unit Process Engineer is responsible for develop and improve manufacturing processes and engineering activities to support new product development and/or existing product enhancement. Implement projects to improve manufacturing capacity, cost reduction and continuous improvement.
Job Description
Functions and Responsibilities
- Identifies critical equipment setting and creation of work standards.
- Creates technical knowledge for the manufacturing unit and transfers the knowledge to the operator and technical associates.
- Coaches associates on continuous improvement methodologies within the manufacturing unit.
- Understands top losses within the manufacturing unit and develops and implements plans to eliminate losses and drive OEE performance.
- Responsible for manufacturing unit change control including validation activities, root cause analysis of prioritized OEE losses, and quality deviations.
- Prepare work instruction / training material for process.
- Lead and execute process validation and compile completion result; develop standards for material or process changes.
- Lead in problem solving using continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
- Implements and sustains BD Excellence work process for the manufacturing unit.
- Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Engineering Degree in Industrial, Mechatronic, Electronic, Electrical, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Troubleshooting / Problem Solving – Advanced
- PLC experience preferred.
- Organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and high–level goals.
- Strong leadership skills to be able to manage time, and a problem solver.
- Ability to influence and build good working relationships according to BD Values.
- Effective Oral/written Communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Bilingual English and Spanish.
