Job Description
Job Summary
Measure key quality characteristics as directed of various plastic and steel components. Prepare graphs, charts, and reports of collected data. Assist engineering in product design verifications, process qualifications and validations.
Responsibilities
Perform measurements with calipers, digital micrometers, gage pins, drop depth gages, optical comparator etc.
Perform measurements on the Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMMs) both contact and non-contact, using pre-established routines and fixtures.
Read and interpret the basics of the engineering drawings such as dimensions, diameters, datum structure and definitions of such datum’s.
Understand and apply the tolerances of such features.
Perform simple data analysis using Minitab.
Ensure accuracy and traceability of measured data.
Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies.
Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Basic math skills.
Work with minimal direction.
Knowledge in MS Excel and MS Word preferred
Experience using mechanical inspection and measuring equipment preferred.
Understand simple mechanical concepts.
Follow written and verbal instructions.
Prioritize daily duties.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detailed oriented and good decision making skills.
Minimum Requirement:
High School Diploma or GED
