BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

At BD, we are advancing the world of health by helping healthcare professionals improve patient outcomes and laboratory efficiency. We are seeking a Nordic Clinical Specialist to support our Specimen Management business across the Nordic region. This field-based position can be based in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, or Norway and offers the flexibility of working from a home office while travelling extensively throughout the region.

Reporting to the Nordic Business Manager, you will provide scientific and clinical expertise that supports customers, laboratories, and account managers across the Nordic and Baltic countries. The role focuses on pre-analytical laboratory medicine, customer education, workflow improvement, tender support, and the clinical application of Specimen Management solutions. You will work closely with colleagues across the Nordics and Europe to help customers optimize laboratory practices and achieve improved clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific and clinical support to customers, including presentations, product enquiries, investigations, and workflow guidance.
  • Deliver and adapt professional services to meet the needs of laboratories across the Nordic region.
  • Partner with Account Managers to communicate the clinical and technical value of BD Specimen Management solutions.
  • Support customer education initiatives, product training, and pre-analytical best practice implementation.
  • Coordinate clinical evaluations, studies, and post-market quality activities when required.
  • Analyze and communicate scientific literature, industry developments, and competitive insights.
  • Support tender activities through clinical expertise and technical input.
  • Monitor emerging laboratory technologies, automation trends, and evolving diagnostic practices to help identify opportunities and risks.

Preferred Requirements

  • Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or another relevant scientific discipline.
  • Experience in a clinical diagnostics laboratory, blood sciences, haematology, clinical chemistry, or a research environment.
  • Knowledge of the pre-analytical phase of laboratory medicine, laboratory workflows, and automation technologies.
  • Ability to interpret and present scientific publications, clinical evidence, and technical information.
  • Fluent in English and at least one Nordic language, with the ability to engage confidently with laboratory professionals and clinical experts.
  • Interest in applying scientific expertise in a customer-facing environment, including supporting education, training, and commercial activities.

This position involves frequent travel throughout the Nordic and Baltic region, including regular customer visits and approximately 60 to 90 overnight stays per year. A valid Category B driving licence is required.

For this position, the expected base salary in Sweden ranges from SEK 45,000 to 55,000 per month, which is a more accurate reflection of the role than the broader salary band shown in the job advertisement. For the other Nordic countries, a different range will apply. The package also includes additional benefits, including a company car and bonus.
