Job Description Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Specialist in Infection Prevention within the BDI Acute Urology Division. This field-based role works closely with customers and the BD Urology Acute Team to create infection prevention solutions specifically targeting catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) and Antimicrobial Resistance control (AMR). This will be primarily in the hospital environments. The role covers the Central and North England region, with frequent national travel and up to three overnight stays per week. The ideal location for this role is in the Midlands or South Yorkshire. Main responsibilities will include:
- Design and implement clinical catheterisation audit programmes across hospital departments.
- Collect and analyse audit data, presenting findings to senior decision-makers such as Directors of Infection Prevention, Chief Nurses, Directors of Finance, Clinical Procurement and Clinical Leads.
- Manage clinical and product training programmes, including co-ordinating evaluations of products like Bard Trays and PureWick.
- Develop relationships with NHS leadership to secure commitment for infection prevention initiatives.
- Collaborate with the sales team to drive product usage and ensure compliance with infection prevention measures.
- Maintain accurate records of programme activities within the CRM system, including customer visits.
- Lead product evaluations and support the implementation of new infection prevention products.
- Adhere to a personal travel budget while meeting the role's travel requirements.
About you:
- NMC Registered Nurse, ideally with a Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated experience in hospital-based patient care, preferably in Urology, Continence or Infection Prevention.
- Demonstration of career progression, leadership roles, committee presence, and/or sister/charge nurse experience is a plus.
- Good at analysing and presenting clinical data, with strong computer skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgement.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with sales teams.
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.
